 ACS worker will always push you to attend their programs or drug tests. Why? because ACS can control the outcomes. If you need a program or drug test, there are many private ones that you can pay for that will give you an honest answer. ACS workers will hide negative drug tests and attack you with positive ones.  As most of you may know, when you enter a courtroom, there is a court reporter who is recording the cases in court. This is crucial to our system of justice for so many reasons. Testimony and statements are the backbone of our legal system. Today, we have so many ways of  recording that anyone can do it. Not ACS workers. During an interview, an ACS worker will never record the conversation in any way, expect for her own notes she writes that parents do not have access to. WHY? the reason as you might have guessed is that ACS workers can then go to Court and claim that the parents made statements that they never made. Don't fall into the trap.  The ACS worker will inform parents that they must attend a Child Safety Conference.(CSC) They are also told that no lawyers are allowed at this conference and it cannot be recorded in any way. The CSC is a vehicle designed to obtain more information from the parent and give ACS a stronger case in court. Nothing will be recorded, thus the ACS workers can tell the Court anything they wish about statements that the parents made. IN the vast majority of cases, after the CSC a court case is filed against the parents. IN order to increase stress on the parents it usually happens the same day. The goal of the ACS worker is to place as much pressure on the parents so that they comply. You will also be provided a "parent advocate" in the CSC. This person is used by ACS to give the parent the feeling that someone is on their side.
