THE NEW YORK TIMES IS REPORTING THAT ACS WILL ADD 400 ACS WORKERS IN JUNE

According to this article , the NY Times reports that ACS will add 400 ACS workers in June. If true, this will simply be chaos. The article, which is a PR stunt by ACS also states that ACS is tearing away children from their parents at a higher rate than before. This is of little concern to the ACS Commissioner who simply sees it as the way ACS does business.ACS workers are very poorly trained, or not rained at al. Recently, we asked an ACS worker if she knew what the Family Court Act was and she had no idea. To add 400 new ACS workers with the power to remove children from their homes is irresponsible and will lead to more broken families. This new Commissioner is of the opinion that all you have to do is take children away from their parents and they will be fine. This is a very bad sign of things to come. WHY IT IS SO DIFFICULT TO SUE ACS

We receive many calls a week from parents who want to sue acs. Their anger is understandable. One of the main problems with suing ACS is that they are a state agency. For this reason, they have certain legal protections not afforded a civilian agency. Thus, many lawyers will not take a case against ACS, unless the parents have been found not guilty at trial or the charges have been dismissed. The best option is to contact a personal injury lawyer who regularly sues state agencies and explain your case to them. Do not be surprised if they do not take your case. Winning a lawsuit against ACS is very difficult.Of course the ACS workers know this and use it to their advantage. That is why it is critically important to contact an attorney as soon as you are contacted by an ACS worker. The attorney can fight for your rights and make sure ACS does not violate the law. Do not speak to the ACS worker without an attorney. brooklynacsattorney.com
