THE SOFT TACTICS AND LIES OF AN ACS WORKER

 ACS workers are trained to obtain cooperation from parents. In this endeavor, they have what are called hard and soft tactics. One of the most effective soft tactics that they have is to tell the parent in the beginning of the investigation that they (the acs workers) doesn't even know why they are there and the investigation " should be closed soon."  This has the affect of putting the parent at ease. Then, the ACS worker will return to the home and state that their " supervisor" has told them they must take services from ACS or face a case being filed against them in family court. This scenario can vary a little but the outcome is always the same. The parent cannot understand how the case went from being closed to the parents having to do services. THE CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER INTERVIEW AND ITS HORRORS

 ACS workers have a very powerful tool against parents in child abuse investigations. When an ACS workers interviews a child and is not given the answers that will allow him to charge the parents with child abuse, they will conduct a Child Advocacy Center interview. The process is as follows. The child is taken to a CAC center, where an "expert" interviewer will browbeat the child into admitting that the parents did something. As soon as a child says anything negative about the parent, the interview stops and the parent will be charged with child abuse. This is done to children as young as four. The interviews are recorded and presented in court. The interviewer is usually a recent college grad who has been given clear instructions to try and get "something" on the parents. To view some of these interviews is truly shocking. If a child says nothing happened he is not believed. If a child lies about various issues its put down as kid talk. The only thing that matters...

DO NOT SPEAK TO ACS WORKERS

 The most important thing a parent can do is not speak to an ACS worker without an attorney.Every day in our practice parents, tell us the nightmare stories that they have suffered at the hands of ACS workers. It all begins with the parent talking to an ACS worker about their family. Let us remember the two a main goals of ACS: 1. To remove children to foster care 2. To register parents in useless services that help no one. The goal of all ACS workers is to attack the parents and create a court case against them. Ironically, ACS workers only attack good parents. WHY? because they know that these parents will never harm their children. Thus, after ACS has them enrolled in useless classes and services, they can claim that they have "fixed" a family.  Now  children in crisis are very difficult to help that is why so many children who need real help die while they are under ACS supervision. THE ACS INVESTIGATION PROCESS

Parents that have dealt with ACS workers tell horrific tales. How does ACS conduct an investigation?First, the ACS worker will appear on your doorstep without an warning or advance notice. Second they usually do not show id or provide business cards to parents because they do not want to be identified. They will then tell the parent that someone called and ACS has concerns. Any anonymous phone call to ACS will start an investigation. The worker will not tell the parent the exact charges but will only state that ACS has concerns. The ACS worker will then try to speak to your children alone. The most important part of the investigation and what ACS workers are fearful of doing, is recording the interviews in any way. In an era where digital recording is cheap and easy, this is a nightmare for the ACS worker. By not recording the interviews, ACS workers will claim that the parent said things that they did not say. WHY THE NYPD HATES ACS

Every day, ACS workers go to the NYPD and demand help in accomplishing their work. Usually this involves going to a parents home and by force, remove the children. This is the very last thing that a New York City Police Officer signed up for. They NYPD is fully aware how dysfunctional ACS is and they would rather not deal with ACS workers. However, they are mandate to by their commanders. NYPD detectives also don't like to work with ACS workers because of the sloppiness and baseless of cases that they bring. ACS workers will also involve the NYPD in lawsuits because of the cases that they chose to take to court.  The rank and file police officers do not want to knock on a parents door and remove a child from their custody. The removal of a child from the home is traumatic and can scar a child for life. This has no bearing on ACS workers. HOW ACS ABUSES THE COURT SYSTEM

This is a common question from frustrated parents. The truth is that, in the hierarchy of courts, Family Court is seen as the lowest one nu prospective judges. Judges would much rather have the prestige of Supreme Court in Civil and Criminal cases. Another reason is that the legislature has ignored the needs of family court for a long time. There are simply not enough judges and the caseload is crushing. Just receiving a trial date can take months. Also, in every ACS case, every adjournment has to meet the schedules of three different attorneys, the can be very difficult. It is in this environment that ACS dysfunction thrives. THE FRUSTRATION OF A PARENT TRYING TO FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST AN ACS WORKER

The most amount of calls that our office receives is from parents who want to file a complaint against the ACS worker. The ACS Advocates Office website claims to help parents, they can be found here. The website actually informs parents of what they will NOT do: Once a parent contacts the office, a recorded message tells them to contact the ACS worker's supervisor. Thus, all parents get from ACS is a recording telling them to call ACS. This is the dysfunction that permeates this entire agency. Cons The down side is the documentation, hostile clients, sitting in court all day to file a case, the hours, the pay should be more for the amount of work. Also if a child dies the media is quick to turn to ACS rather than the actual murderer and the family who had frequent contact with the child.
