THE FRUSTRATION OF A PARENT TRYING TO FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST AN ACS WORKER

The most amount of calls that our office receives is from parents who want to file a complaint against the ACS worker. The ACS Advocates Office website claims to help parents, they can be found here.

The website actually informs parents of what they will NOT do: Once a parent contacts the office, a recorded message tells them to contact the ACS worker's supervisor. Thus, all parents get from ACS is a recording telling them to call ACS. This is the dysfunction that permeates this entire agency.

Understand that the Office of Advocacy cannot

  • Challenge or attempt to influence a Judge’s decision in your case
  • Conduct our own investigation of an active Child Protective case
If the Office of Advocacy cannot help you directly, we will direct you to people who can help.  "

Thus, if you have an abusive and rude ACS worker, this office will not help you. In fact, this Office which is supposed to help parents tells them to go speak to an attorney.

What to do if you feel your rights are not being respected

You have the right to be heard! You can:
  • Talk to your ACS caseworker, your foster care caseworker or social worker.
  • You can also contact the ACS Office of Advocacy and make a complaint.
  • You have a right to your own lawyer and talk to your lawyer in private. Your lawyer can tell the judge what you think, feel and want.

This is simply ACS trying to pass the buck once more and not be held accountable. The truth of the matter, once an ACS worker makes a decision about your case, NO ONE in ACS will help the parent in any way. In ACS wold, parents are presumed bad and must be punished in some way.

The only way to hold an ACS worker responsible is to have your attorney make a legal motion to the Judge in your case and hope that the Judge will listen to your concerns. ACS workers and supervisors work hard to protect themselves against parents and they simply cannot police themselves. The Law Offices of Michael S. Discioarro, LLC is here to help, call our hotline at 917-519-8417 and fight back.

THE DANGER OF THE ACS HOME VISITS

The bulk of the street level work that ACS does is the home visit. ACS workers take this opportunity to attack the parents in any ay that they can. Initially the ACS worker will demand that the parents not record them. They will actually give you orders in your own home. Do not allow them to do this. By: LAW OFFICES OF MICHAEL DISCIOARRO BRONX, N.Y.  -  June 8, 2022  -  PRLog  -- "These facts are so outrageous they need to be judged by a jury." Mr. Discioarro said. In  new lawsuit in the case of  X.J v ACS ,  ACS  filed a petition of neglect against and innocent mother, removed her child who had special needs, only to dismiss the case three days after it was filed. "this is an incredible abuse of power, the worst I have seen in a while." Mr. Discioarro said. The mother was completely blindsided by the removal of the child into foster care and fought every step of the way to get the child back. ACS and other child protective agencies receive state and federal funding for each child removed. Thus, the more children they remove, the ...
