ACS CALLED ME, NOW WHAT?

One of the most frightening things a parent can hear is an ACS worker leaving them a message. The ACS workers will advise the parents that they received a report of child abuse and that they must see the child right away. ACS policy says that they must see the child in 24 hours. So what should a parent do? The first thing is to advise the ACS worker that they will be retaining an attorney and will not speak to them until they do. This will case the ACS worker to become very agitated and angry. They will threaten the parent and say that they will take "court action" Do not be scared. We , as Americans have a right to counsel and in New York that right is even stronger than most states. Judges in this state don't like when a person is told they cant have a lawyer. Stand up for your family against this dysfunctional agency. We can be reached 24 hours at 917-519-8417. BROOKLYNACSLAWYER.COM

THE TWO TRUE GOALS OF ACS

As with any bureaucratic organization, ACS has goals. But these are not the goals that they politely post on their website. They have nothing to do with "healthy families" and community based approaches to helping parents. ACS workers attack parents in hopes of obtaining one of two results. SERVICES, SERVICES,SERVICES- The main goal o f ACS workers is to enroll every parent they come into contact with into "services". What are these services? Mainly, they are useless parenting classes that are run by third party organizations that make large amounts of money off of parents. The reason for this is simple. At the end of the fiscal year, ACS files a report with the city, state and federal officials and gloats about how many parents they have helped, then ask for more funding. This ensures that the money keeps flowing to the ACS workers and the supervisors who make well into six figure salaries. The favorite family is the one that has no issues. This is a win win fo...

WHEN YOUR EX CALLS ACS ON YOU

Divorce and separation can be hell. This is especially true if there are children involved. One particular nasty tactic that we have seen, is when one parent uses ACS against the other. This often means making false accusations to ACS about the other parent. What most parents do not understand is that the main goal of ACS is to remove children. Thus, if they can have a situation where they can present to a court that both parents are unstable, this will help them remove the kids. The worst thing you can do for your child, is make false allegations against the other parent to ACS. ACS accuse both parents of neglect and start a proceeding. This is a highly dysfunctional agency.
