This is a common question by many parents who have been abused by ACS. The first thing to know is is that the law gives ACS certain legal protections from lawsuits. Thus is it very difficult to sue and win. Second, there are strict time limits that must be adhered to. The law limits the time you have to sue ACS. Third, in order to have a better chance parents would be in a better position If they sued in federal court. The best way to find out if you have a case to SUE ACS is to speak to an attorney who regularly sues the city and state. Usually they are suing for wrongful arrest of police brutality. These are the types of lawyers that can help bring suit against ACS. You must move quickly because as stated, the law imposes time limits as to when you can and can't sue ACS.
