The situation is common in NYC. A neighbor does not like the other neighbor and calls acs to falsely report that they are using drugs around the children. While falsely reporting a child abuse case is a crime in New York state, it is rarely prosecuted. Now the ACS worker will come to your door and demand that you submit to a drug test and a CASAC assessment. A CASAC assessment is a mental health evaluation. This is all based on a false call from an anonymous caller. We have personally spoken to ACS supervisors and have been told that " this is how ACS does things". This how ACS treats parents. They accuse and attack them without any evidence. ACS simply wants to check off boxes and increase their funding.
