WHY HAVE I BEEN INDICATED FOR CHILD ABUSE?

One of the most shocking things that a parent can receive in the mail is a letter from the Office of Children and Family Services stating that they have been indicated for child abuse. What does this mean? ACS workers are the ones responsible with filing a report with OCFS and they do so after a visit to the home. If the ACS worker cannot sustain any charges to bring to Family Court, they will simply file a case with OCFS and force the parent to go through a hearing at this agency. This is all designed to make it appear as if ACS workers are actually accomplishing something.
