ACS OPENS UP " FAMILY CAFES" TO PUSH USELESS SERVICES ON FAMILIES AND REMOVE CHILDREN FROM THEIR PARENTS
ACS commissioner David Hansell recently announced the formation of Family Enrichment Centers to "help families in need"
The Administration for Children’s Services is funding the new centers under the auspices of its newly created Division of Child and Family Well-Being. We have appropriated the necessary resources to ensure that the centers have what they need to succeed. Each contracted site will receive $450,000 a year and ACS is allocated an additional $150,000 for training, technology and other costs.
At $600,00.00 a year these centers will serve as a new way to intake cases into the ACS system It will provide ACS with a softer approach to force parents into useless services that prop up the ACS budget and new opportunities to remove children from their parents and place them in foster care which is where ACS gains most of their financial windfall.
Meanwhile, ACS was fined and held in contempt for not buying a child in foster care a new wheelchair that was badly needed. This proves that the financial needs of the ACS bureaucracy comes first. This money should be used to purchase badly needed clothing, school supplies, toys and other necessities that underprivileged children need not a new way to remove kids from their families.
